We interrupt this blog to bring you the greatest utility in the history of computing. Okay, maybe that's overselling it a bit, but having spent a few weeks with this program, we'd sooner cut off our clicking fingers than use a mouse without it.
As any Windows user knows, mouse-wheel scrolling doesn't work based on where you point your cursor.
Instead, a window must have "focus" (meaning you've clicked in it to make it active), otherwise the mouse wheel won't function. That's insane! Fortunately, there's
WizMouse, which enables your mouse's scroll wheel to work in whatever window is under your cursor, plain and simple.
This clever bit of freeware works exactly as advertised. Wherever you point your mouse, the scroll wheel works. WizMouse can also optionally add wheel-scrolling capabilities to programs that don't support it.
Admittedly, Windows Vista and 7 have a feature that
activates whatever window you mouse over, but that's not quite the same thing.
WizMouse handily solves a problem Windows shouldn't have. It's compatible with all versions of the OS, including 7 (despite what the developer's product page says). Get it now; you'll be glad you did.
We now (well, tomorrow) return you to your regularly scheduled Windows/Windows Server/migration coverage.
